KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Bethel College volleyball team dropped a four-set loss to Avila University Friday night in KCAC play in Kansas City.

The Threshers fell to the first-year conference team 13-25, 25-14, 25-17, 25-21.

Erin Jones led the Eagle attack with 15 kills, followed by Cydney Newton with 14 and Amara Meeks with 13. Hannah Mast set 48 assists. Savanna Stevens, Brenna Drury and Aspen Kridner each served three aces. Brittany Castillo had 27 digs, followed by Mast with 10. Maria Valleroy downed two blocks.

Nicole Klusener led Bethel with 11 kills. Avery Myatt set 15 assists, followed by Kaylee VanderVenn with 13. Klusener served three aces. Rachel Bustillos had 17 digs, followed by Klusener with 16. Jordyn Allen downed three blocks.

Avila wins its first KCAC match to improve to 8-20, 1-7 in conference play.

Bethel drops to 6-16, 3-5 in KCAC play, and hosts Kansas Wesleyan at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

FORT SCOTT — The Hesston College volleyball team fell to Fort Scott Community College in three sets Wednesday in Jayhawk Conference East play in Fort Scott.

The Larks fell 25-14, 25-18, 25-17.

Brittany Barnekoff led the Greyhounds with 11 kills. Sophie Mader set 31 assists. Karlee Stanley served two aces. Abbie Casper had 24 digs, followed by Emily Jackson with 11. Madison Dehlinger downed five blocks.

Jade Gleason led Hesston with eight kills, while Kylee Kasselman added seven. Faith Hallmark set 22 assists. Hallmark had 17 digs, followed by Annalys Hanna with 15 and Kasselman with 13. Abby Busby downed two blocks.

Friday, Hesston lost to Highland Community College 25-19, 25-20, 25-13.

Kasselman had seven kills. Hallmark set 13 assists, followed by Annalys Hanna with 11. Hanna had 16 digs, followed by Hallmark with 15 and Kasselman with 13. Samantha Rossin downed four blocks.

Hesston is 11-16, 3-6 in conference play, and hosts Kansas City (Kan.) Community College at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
