HALSTEAD — Dennis Carter shot a hole-in-one Tuesday at the Wedgewood Golf Course in rural Halstead.

Carter used a driver to ace the 180-yard eighth hole.

Witnesses were Paul Flores and Roman Mannabach.

DODGE CITY — The Hesston College men’s soccer team fell to Dodge City Community College 14-0 Wednesday in Jayhawk Conference West play in Dodge City.

Connor O’Neill scored three goals with two assists to lead DCCC. Joshua DonJuan scored three goals with an assist. Hugo Torregrossa scored a goal with two assists. Gustavo Lemos Borba and Mario Martinez each scored a goal with an assist. Aries Yeverino, Omar Estrada, Samuel Ouriques Nicolodi and Eduardo Gabriel Da Silva each scored a goal.

Dodge City improves to 9-4-2, 6-3-2 in conference play. Hesston drops to 2-13-1, 0-11 in conference play. The Larks end the regular season at 7 p.m. Saturday at home against Pratt Community College.

DODGE CITY — The Hesston College women’s soccer team fell to Dodge City Community College 2-0 Wednesday in Jayhawk Conference West play in Dodge City.

Renica Beauplan and Pam Rosales each scored a goal for Dodge City.

Dodge City improves to 8-8-1, 7-6 in conference play.

Hesston is 0-16, 0-13 in conference play and ends the season at 5 p.m. Saturday at home against Pratt Community College.

HC spikers

fall to FSCC

FORT SCOTT — The Hesston College volleyball team fell to Fort Scott Community College in three sets Wednesday in Jayhawk Conference East play in Fort Scott.

The Larks fell 25-14, 25-18, 25-17.

Brittany Barnekoff led the Greyhounds with 11 kills. Sophie Mader set 31 assists. Karlee Stanley served two aces. Abbie Casper had 24 digs, followed by Emily Jackson with 11. Madison Dehlinger downed five blocks.

Jade Gleason led Hesston with eight kills, while Kylee Kasselman added seven. Faith Hallmark set 22 assists. Hallmark had 17 digs, followed by Annalys Hanna with 15 and Kasselman with 13. Abby Busby downed two blocks.
