MCC meat canner coming

The Mennonite Central Committee meat canner will be coming to Kansas, with several area organizations hosting the canner.

Every year MCC’s mobile meat canner travels across the United States and Canada meeting volunteers who prepare cans of turkey, beef, chicken and pork to be sent around the world. Over 30,000 people a year volunteer to fill, weigh, wash and label every can.

The canner will be hosted by Moundridge, Hillsboro, Hutchinson, Buhler and Wichtia Churches Oct. 29 through November 7 at the MCC Warehouse in North Newton.

North Newton area churches will host the canner in North Newton Nov. 14 through 17. To volunteer those dates, contact Ken Janzen at 316-283-6855 or Alan Entz at 620-772-6344.
