Newton commission to meet
The Newton city commission will meet for both a work session and a regular meeting July 10 in Newton City Hall, 201 E. Sixth.
The work session will begin at 5:30. Agenda items include the 2019 Chamber of Commerce budget request and a budget discussion.
The regular meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Agenda items include standard traffic ordinances, the public offense code, an appointment to the electrical board, presentation of the Yard of the Year award, a proclamation for All Teachers Day, a special event request for July 15, an alcohol permit for the Harvey County Free Fair, a tax abatement request, a notice of hearing for the 2019 budget, bids for grading in Rolling Hills Sixth Addition, a report on July 4 activities for first responders and a period for public comment.
County commission to meet
The Board of Harvey County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. July 9 in the meeting room of the Harvey County Courthouse, 800 N. Main.
Agenda items include a request for bids for a landfill compactor, a proposal for pavement striping, review of a WIC grant budget and a period for public comment.
BOE to meet
The Newton USD 373 Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. July 9 in the boardroom of McKinley Administrative Center, 308 E. First.
Agenda items include reorganization of the board, a discussion of the comprehensive plan, a curriculum revision, a statement on class size and a period for public comment.
