WICHITA — The Wichita Wingnuts extended its winning streak to six games with a pair of wins over the Cleburne Railroaders Wednesday night at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita.

The Wingnuts won the first game 2-0 and the second game 8-4.

In the first game, Wichita scored on a pair of RBI doubles for Zach Nehrir in the fourth and sixth innings.

Wichita pitcher Casey Harman (2-0) went six innings, allowing four hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Daniel Tillman pitched the seventh for the save.

Patrick Mincey (0-1) took the loss for the Railroaders, allowing two runs on four hits with a walk and four strikeouts.

Cameron Monger went two for three hitting for Cleburn.

In the second game, Wichita trailed 3-0, but came back with two runs in the bottom of the third and six in the bottom of the sixth. The Railroaders came up with a run in the top of the seventh.

Jordan Cooper (2-0) pitched a complete game for the Wingnuts, allowing one earned run on five hits with a walk and two strikeouts. Cleburne used four pitchers with Shawn Blackwell (0-1) taking the loss.

Leo Vargas went two for four hitting for Wichita with two RBIs. Ryne Willard also drove in two runs. Tony Thomas hit a solo home run. Logan Trowbridge also drove in a run.

Levi Scott and Rafael Palmeiro each drove in a run for Cleburne, 5-7.

Wichita is 8-4 and moves into a tie for second place in the American Association South, 1/2 game behind Sioux City.

Wichita and Cleburne wrap up their series at 7:05 p.m. today.
