The Newton Treble Clef Club has awarded scholarships to five Newton High School graduates who are planning to major in music in college.

They are: Aubrie Nichols, daughter of Jane Nichols, who will attend Baker University and major in violin; Douglas Ragon, son of Jodi Dent and Ron Ragon, who will enter Kansas State University and major in trombone and piano; Magdalene Tyner, daughter of Megan and Tobias Tyner, who will attend Wichita State University and major in voice; Diana Unruh, daughter of Delane and Barbara Unruh, who will attend Kansas State University and major in cello; and Jason Wong, son of Amy and Gui Wong, who will attend Eastern Mennonite University and major in violin.

Additional scholarships from previous years are renewed by Shawn Bontrager, Matthew Garber and Ben Peyton.

Funds for these scholarships come from a private endowment and the Treble Clef Vespers.
