City Commission to meet
The Newton City Commission will meet for both a work session and a regular business meeting Feb. 27 at Newton City Hall, 201 E. Sixth.
The commission will meet at 5 p.m. for a work session. Agenda items include an update from the Harvey County Economic Development Council, commission goals and an executive session to discuss personnel.
The commission will meet at 7 p.m. for a regular meeting. Agenda items include community recognition, a request to close Athletic Park Circle, a request to close a parking lot on Broadway for a craft fair, a letter to Harvey County Rural Water District No. 1 for the annexation of land, a federal fund exchange program, an interlocal agreement for the Harvey County Drug Task Force, improvements to Rolling Hills Sixth Addition, rehabilitation of a taxiway at the airport, an update on Centennial Park and a period for public comment.
PBC to meet
The Public Building Commission will meet at 5:15 p.m. Feb. 28 at Newton City Hall, 201 E. Sixth.
The commission will open and review bids for a Centennial Park restroom and concession project.
County commission to meet
The Board of Harvey County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. in the meeting room of the Harvey County Courthouse, 800 N. Main.
Agenda items include a solid waste pickup bid, a rehabilitation project for an airport taxiway, the Harvey County Unified Development Code, a request of asset forfeiture, an interlocal agreement for the Harvey County Drug Task Force, a year-end financial report and a period for public comment.
