Friday morning Newton Police responded to a report of a naked man walking along Anderson Avenue near Southeast 36th.
The call came to 911 at about 10:30 a.m. of a naked man walking along a street. The man, who was not not from Harvey County, was in his mid 50s.
"Officers found a naked man walking," said Eric Murphy, chief of police. "He said he was a free spirit and wanted to walk naked."
His naked stroll apparently began at Camp Hawk. Officers took him back to the park to get his clothes and he packed up before they left him there.
"This did not quite meet the charge of lewd and lascivious activity," Murphy said.
