HESSTON — The Hesston College softball team went 4-0 during the weekend in NJCAA Division II, Region VI play.

?Friday, Hesston swept Neosho County Community College 10-2 in five innings and 5-1.?Saturday, Hesston downed Allen Community College 9-1 in five innings and 5-4.?In the first game against Neosho, Erin Albrecht pitched for the win, allowing two runs on six hits with one walk and three strikeouts. Newton High grad Olivia Miller went three for four hitting with three RBIs. Kaity Willis went two for three with two RBIs. Hayley Gately also drove in two runs. Brooke Beckerman went two for three with an RBI. Mo Brenneman went two for four with an RBI.

?In the second game, Gately threw six innings for the win, allowing an unearned run on two hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Albrecht finished the game. Olivia Miller, Willis and Ashlyn Knepp each went two for three hitting. Gately, Willis, Beckerman, Wright and Taylor Stroud each drove in a run.?In the first game against Allen County, Albrecht picked up her second win of the weekend, allowing a run on five hits with one strikeout. Alyssa Gustafson went two for three hitting with three RBIs. Knepp drove in two runs. Olivia Miller and Gately each went two for three hitting.

?In the second game against Allen County, Hesston took a 4-0 lead in the first inning, holding on for the rest of the way. Gately threw seven innings for the win, allowing three earned runs on four hits with four walks and a strikeout. Olivia Miller and Willis both went two for two hitting. Carlie Miller drove in two runs. Gately, Willis and Wright each drove in a run.

?Hesston is 8-5, 8-2 in Region VI play. The Larks play at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Dodge City Community College.
