Robert “Bob” Prouty, 85, died on Nov. 15, 2012, at Asbury Park.
Bob was born to Wilbur and Welhelmina (Weigand) Prouty in rural Newton on Sept. 15, 1927. He was the oldest of eight children.
Bob retired as a supervisor of the City of Hesston. In prior years, he worked at Boeing and the Railroad. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Hesston United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred (Seltenreich) Prouty; son, Robert A. Prouty. He is survived by five sisters, Marilyn Van Rossen, Elizabeth Scherling, Carol Rostetter, Mary Ballard and Donna Tatro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Welhelmina Prouty; sister, Jean Friesen; and brother, Ted Prouty.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. A committal service will be held following the service at Greenwood Cemetery.
