Robert “Bob” Prouty, 85, died on November 15, 2012, at Asbury Park in Newton, Kansas. Bob was born to Wilbur and Willomina (Weigand) Prouty in rural Newton on September 15, 1927. He was one of seven children. Bob retired as a supervisor of the City of Hesston. In prior years, he worked at Boeing and the Railroad. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Mildred (Seltenreich) Prouty; sisters, Carol Rostetter, Mary Prouty, Marilyn Van Rossen and Donna Tatro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Willomina Prouty; brother, Ted Prouty; and sister, Jean Friesen. Bob and Mildred were married over sixty years. Funeral services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service.
