If you normally attend the Fall Livestock Association Steak Fry, you might have thought you missed it, as it normally occurs in October.

However, because of harvest and planting of wheat acres, the board members chose to push it back to Nov. 12 this year.

So, all livestock owners still have time to mark it on their calendars and plan to attend.

This steak fry, sponsored by local agribusinesses, the Harvey County Livestock Association and the Harvey County Extension Council, provides an opportunity for producers and community members to come together in good fellowship and discuss current industry issues.

All are invited to attend the steak fry, which will be at Camp Hawk, just south of Newton. The meal consists of grilled steak, mountain oysters and several side dishes. It costs $7 per person and starts at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 12.

For planning purposes, please contact the Harvey County Extension Office at 284-6930 to RSVP.

I look forward to seeing many of you there.

Jonie James is Harvey County Extension agent, agriculture.
