Look ahead

- New York’s same-sex marriage law goes into effect today, and there are expected to be plenty of weddings this week. New York is the sixth state to allow gay marriage. 

- Fundamentalist Mormon leader Warren Jeffs goes on trial Monday. Jeffs is charged with polygamy and two counts of sexual assault of a child. He first made headlines in 2006 when he made the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted List.

- The blockbuster season is winding down, but this week will see two more films that are expected to do well: “The Smurfs” and “Cowboys & Aliens.” Both movies open Friday.
