Prieb, Duerksen wed on April 4

Cheryl Lynn Prieb and Ross Michael Duerksen were united in marriage during a 4:30 p.m. April 4, 2009, ceremony at Garden Community Church in Moundridge.

Pastor Bruce Porter officiated the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Glen and Sharon Prieb of Lehigh. The groom is the son of Gary and Janet Duerksen of Lehigh. Grandparents are Magdalene Schauf of Great Bend, Edna Prieb of Lehigh and Erma Pankratz of Goessel.

The bride wore an ivory all-over beaded trumpet-style dress with an illusion halter neckline and matching ivory sash. She carried a bouquet of purple agapanthus, freesia, lisianthus and ivory hydrangeas.

Matrons of honor were friends of the bride Melanie Thiessen of Hillsboro and April McKim of Red Bluff, Calif. Bridesmaids were friends of the bride Staci Frick of Newton and Elise Matz of Wichita. They wore Victorian satin dresses with ivory bouquets similar to the bride’s.

Flower girls were Rachel Prieb, cousin of the bride of Canton, and Talby Duerksen, cousin of the groom of Newton. Candle lighters were friends of the bride Amanda Hagen and Jessica Funk, both of Hillsboro.

Best man was Chad Duerksen, brother of the groom of Goddard. Groomsmen were friends of the groom Layne Frick of Newton, Ronn Coates of Manhattan and Cody Liebelt of Osage City.

Ring bearers were Keaton Littrell and Andrew Prieb, cousins of the bride of Canton.

Ushers were friends of the groom Dustin Jost of Hillsboro, Jesse Janzen of Wichita and David Sattler of Norton. Organist was Karen Wiens of Hillsboro. Vocalists were John and Ellen Buerger of Hesston.

Guest book attendants were Amy Duerksen, sister of the groom of Wichita, and Mark Prieb, brother of the bride of Manhattan.

A reception followed in the church fellowship hall with a dance following at Fox Ridge Country Club in Newton.

The bride is employed by First Bank in Newton as a customer service representative. She is a graduate of Hillsboro High School and Kansas State University.

The groom is employed as a design engineer for AGCO in Hesston. He graduated from Hillsboro High School and Kansas State University.

After a honeymoon trip to Mexico, the couple resides in Hesston.
