Trimpe, Whorton exchange wedding vows

Maranda Trimpe of Windom and Garrett Whorton of Little River were married during a 5 p.m. Oct. 17, 2009, outdoor ceremony at Dyck Arboretum of the Plains in Hesston.

Ted Weis of the Little River Congregational Church officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Kirk Trimpe of Windom and Rogena Trimpe of Valley Falls.

The groom is the son of Allen and Kristi Whorton of Little River.

Maid of honor was Mattie Trimpe, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Paige Smyth, Erica Ring, Maggie Stephenson and Elisabeth Galyon.

Best men were Gunner Whorton and Tyler Whorton, brothers of the bride. Groomsmen were Jeff Buller, Kinsley Jordan and Cliff Olander.

The bride is the granddaughter of Lois Hope of Pratt and the late Gerhardt Trimpe; Dan and Janet Strang of Valley Falls and the late Ellen Ruth Strang.

The groom is the grandson of Allen and Dola Whorton of Rocky Ford, Colo., Loretta Pierson of McPherson and the late Dr. Weir Pierson.

Flower girls were Raleigh Strang, and Jalyn, Emily and Zoey Whorton. Ring bearer was Payton Strang.

Ushers were Tyler Goertzen, Brandon Kaufman, Brett Clow and Beau Cox.

The couple has made their home in Newton.

The bride is a graduate of Little River High School and Johnson County Community College. She is a dental assistant for Tippin Dental.

The groom is a graduate of Little River High School and Bethel College. He is an admissions counselor/recruiter for Bethel College.

Musicians were Open Road, an a capella group from Bethel College; and Rebecca Schloneger, Kinsley Jordan and Andy Findley.
