Halterman-Linder, Linder marry Sept. 29

Kelly Halterman-Linder and Steve Linder of Kansas City, Kan., were married during a 6:30 p.m. Sept. 29, 2008, ceremony at Hawthorne Chapel in Parkville.

Pastor David E. Reimer officiated the marriage celebration. A civil ceremony was perform Sept. 29, 2007, at the Jackson County Courthouse in Kansas City, Mo., before Steve’s deployment to Iraq.

The bride is the daughter of Anita Uriate of Kansas City, Mo., and Jim and Reba Halterman of Moberly, Mo. The groom is the son of Jeff and Debi Miles of Newton, and Pat and Sandy Linder of St. Joseph, Mo.

The bride was escorted by her father.

Maids of honor were Kristen Spurling and Brooksy Halterman, sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Randolyn Sereres, Tara Shelton and Sabrina Mann, all friends of the bride.

Best men were Zachary Fisher, friend of the groom; and Scott Miles, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Tom Argubright, John Zimmer and Silas Harris, all friends of the groom.

Ushers were Joe Halterman, brother of the bride, and Prestan Garcia, nephew of the groom. Candle lighters were Makaila Garcia and Emily Miles, nieces of the groom. Flower girls were Alexandria Garcia and Madalyn Miles, nieces of the groom, and Halie Powell and Sabrina Uriarte, cousins of the bride.

During the lighting of the unity candle, a piano duet, “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee,” was performed by Emily and Madalyn Miles.

Following the ceremony, a cocktail reception was at the event space at Nara’s in Kansas City, Mo.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the couple Nov. 28 at Dave and Buster’s in Kansas City, Kan.

Grandparents of the bride are Ray and Ruth Ann Uriate of Homossassa, Fla., and Jerry and Deloris Halterman of Moberly, Mo. Grandparents of the groom are the late Francis and Jo Nell Shaffer, the late Grover “Dutch” and Bessie Linder, and the late Leonard and Ella Dean Miles, all of St. Joseph, Mo.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Shawnee Mission Northwest High School, a 2001 graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelor of science degree in dietetics and a 2005 graduate of The University of Kansas with a master’s degree in dietetics. Kelly is employed by The University of Kansas Hospital as a clinical dietitian in Kansas City, Kan.

The groom is a 1995 graduate of Newton High School and attended The University of Kansas in Lawrence. Steve is a sergeant in the Psyop Unit with the U.S. Army Reserves and is employed by Central States Beverage Co., in sales out of Kansas City, Kan.

The couple resides in Kansas City, Mo.
