Vanessa Wray and Joseph Montano, both of Newton, were married during a 5:30 p.m. July 17, 2009, outdoor wedding ceremony at Harvey County West Lake. Judge Dickinson officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Craig and Madeline Wray of Newton.
Grandparents of the groom are Marty and Herman Montano of Newton, and Larry and Judy Marks of Newton. Grandparents of the bride are Mardell Wray of McPherson; the late Henry and Mary Tafolla of Newton; and the late Daniel Wray.
The bride was escorted by her father.
Matron of honor was Larissa Wray Tolbert of Newton.
Best man was Grady Wray of Newton. Groomsmen were Alejandro Smith of Newton, son of the bride, and Matthew Montano of Newton, son of the groom.
Flower girl was Emily Tolbert of Newton, niece of the bride.
Ring bearer was Ethan Tolbert of Newton, nephew of the bride.
The bride’s parents hosted a reception at Harvey County West Lake.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Hesston College and a 2008 graduate of Tabor College. She is a registered nurse at Wichita Clinic in Wichita.
The groom is a 1997 graduate of Bethel College and is employed by American General Finance.
After a Caribbean cruise, the couple is making their home in Newton.
