Question: What’s the best advice you received as you were getting ready to graduate from high school and heading into the future?
• The best words of wisdom I got were to follow what dreams I had. College isn’t for everyone, and it wasn’t for me. But there are technical schools, beauty schools, a host of other learning opportunities that don’t take four years or more. Do what makes you happy.
• I think the thing I heard that stuck with me is not to declare a major at college too early. Most kids go in thinking they know what they want to be. Many change their minds when they’re in university because they see new things, new careers they hadn’t thought of before.
