Question: It’s open forum week. What’s on your mind?
• Parents, your children are placing themselves in great harm with their cell phones. A few weeks ago, in the dark at 7:20 a.m., I was driving past Sunset school. A young girl on a bike headed east was stopped in the middle of the street, straddling her bike, clearly texting on her cell phone. Her back was to oncoming traffic. What a tragedy it could have been. Manners, common sense and safety have all become secondary to these hand-held idiot devices, a.k.a. cell phones.
• I hope whoever stole the large beautiful pumpkin from in front of my house last night needed it more than I do as I bought that pumpkin to carve for my grandchildren.
