Wichita Thunder defenseman Jim Jorgensen scored a goal with 3:37 remaining in regulation to hand the Wichita Thunder a 3-2 win over the Arizona Sundogs in Central Hockey League play at the Kansas Coliseum.
The win was Wichita’s first for interim coach Jason Duda. It also snaps a seven-game losing streak.
Joel Hanson scored Wichita’s first two goals of the game. Glen Detulleo had three assists for Wichita. Jason Deleurme had two assists. Brad Thompson added an assist.
Linus Fagemo and Kyle Hood each had a goal for the Sundogs. Konrad Reeder, Jon Landry and Torren Delforte each added an assist.
Wichita goalie Scott Campbell had 32 saves for the win. Arizona’s J.F. Perras had 22 saves in the loss.
Wichita improves to 3-9-1, while Arizona falls to 4-8-2. Wichita hosts Tulsa at 7:05 p.m. today.
