Sand Creek Station golf course in Newton will host the third-annual Independent Living Resource Center’s Golf Classic on June 18.
Proceeds from the tournament benefit people with disabilities in south-central Kansas who are served by the Independent Living Resource Center.
“Sand Creek Station is a great course, and the Golf Classic is a great tournament,” said Cindi Unruh, executive director of the resource center. “Our tournament includes a lot of extras, including a barbecue lunch before the tournament and a steak dinner afterward, and some really great prizes. We’ve had a great time every year, and I’m expecting this year’s tournament to be even better.”
The cost is $125 per player or $500 for a team of four. Registration includes green fees for 18 holes of golf, cart fees, gifts and prizes, and meals and beverages. The format is a four-person scramble, and prizes will be awarded to the winning teams. Registration begins at 11 a.m., with shotgun start at noon.
