Melanie Miller-Garrett of Newton won the women’s 35 to 39 age division of the Eisenower Memorial 10 kilometer run April 11 in Abilene.
Miller-Garrett finished 30th overall in 53:28.8.
There were 85 runners in the race.
Bettie Branch of Halstead finished second in the women’s 55 to 59 age division in 1:09:05.5, 73rd overall.
In the five kilometer race, Melissa Helms of Hesston placed second in the women’s 35 to 39 age division in 31:52.4, 34th overall. Vonnie Dawes of Lehigh won the women’s 55 to 59 division in 37:08.6, 47th overall. Glenda Miller of Newton took second in the women’s 55 to 59 division in 38:26.2, 58th overall. Mary Vogts of Moundridge was third in the women’s 55 to 59 division in 48:06.2, 62nd overall.
In the half-marathon, Donovan Krehbiel of Hesston won the boys’ 12 to 18 division in 1:43.22.8, 27th overall. Donna Spoonmore of Hillsboro won the women’s 45 to 49 division in 1:58.37.4, 87th overall. Kodi Panzer of Halstead took 15th in the women’s 25 to 29 division in 1:59:58.7, 93rd overall. Jim Dawes of Lehigh took second in the men’s 60 to 64 division in 2:39.29, 195th overall. The race drew 227 participants.
In the marathon, Gary Histand of North Newton placed fifth in the men’s 45 to 49 division in 3:17:07.6, 21st overall. Tam Perry of Hillsboro placed second in the women’s 40 to 44 division in 3:56:23.1, 67th overall. Brian Jackson of Newton placed 15th in the men’s 30 to 34 division in 4:04:19.8, 82nd overall. There were 175 runners in the marathon.
