Maize players
PARK CITY — The Wichita Wild signed a pair of former Maize High players for the 2010 season.
Kicker Dylan Pohlman has been resigned for the season. Pohlman, a 2003 Tabor grad, hit 59 extra points and 15 field goals last season, including a 24-yard game-winner June 13 against the Omaha Beef.
Pohlman began his professional career in 2004 with the Wichita Stealth of arenafootballleague2. He also played for af2 teams in Oklahoma City, Manchester and Corpus Christi.
Also signed with defensive lineman Greg Nicks, a former Butler County Community College and Kansas player. Nicks was a long snapper, guard and center in two seasons at KU. He spent time in camp with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2004. He worked as a teacher in Lawrence and a police officer in Wichita. He currently works in sales for Kansas Building Products.
Pohlman and Nicks played together at Maize in 1996 and 1997.
