Marion High School junior Julia Zeiner claimed a pair of state titles in the Class 3A state track meet Saturday at Cessna Stadium.
She won two jumping events, and added two other medals to help lead the Warriors to a seventh-place team finish.
Douglass won the meet with 56 points, followed by Garden Plain at 42.33 and Rossville at 37. Marion scored 32 points, followed by Hillsboro in 14th with 17 points, Halstead tied for 3th at two points and Remington tied for 39th with one point.
Zeiner won her first state title of the meet in the long jump, winning in 18-1. Zeiner followed with a win in the triple jump in 38-5 1/2.

Zeiner ended her day with a second-place finish in the 300-meter low hurdles in 46.35, losing by .1 seconds.
“It went really well, especially my jumps,” Zeiner said. “I felt pretty good in the 300 (low hurdles). I got a little behind (Douglass’ Cara Barnes). She slipped near the end, and I thought I had a chance to catch her. She had a pretty good lean to win it.”
Zeiner said she was happy with the season.
“I met most of my goals here,” Zeiner said. “I had high expectations this season. I was just confident coming in. I wanted to win (the jumps).”
