Moundridge 63, Canton-Galva 13

MOUNDRIDGE — The Moundridge Wildcat girls downed the Canton-Galva Eagles 63-13 Tuesday in Heart of America League play in Moundridge.

The Wildcats led 29-8 at the half, holding the Eagles scoreless in the third quarter.

Mackenzie Suderman led Moundridge with 17 points, followed by Michelle Schrag with 11 points.

MaKenzie Farnham scored seven points for Canton-Galva, 0-16.

Moundridge is 12-4 and hosts Inman Friday.

Hesston 58, Haven 53

HESSTON — The Hesston Swathers held off Haven 58-53 Tuesday in Central Kansas League play in Hesston.

Down 21-16 after the first quarter, Hesston made an 18-4 run to take the lead.

Sam Short scored 18 points for Hesston, followed by Laci McCartney with 14 and Caylee Richardson with 12.

Hailey Davis scored 25 points for Haven, 12-4. Tayler Boese added 11 points.

Hesston is 11-5 and plays Friday at Nickerson.

Remington 51, Peabody-B. 25

WHITEWATER — The Remington Bronco girls held Peabody-Burns to just three points in the second quarter and three more in the third quarter to claim a 51-25 non-league win Tuesday in rural Whitewater.

Remington led 18-8 at the half.

Jessi Green scored 16 points for Remington, 15-1.

McKenzie Ensminger and Sarah Hofkamp each scored six points for Peabody-Burns, 4-12.

Remington hosts Ell-Saline Tuesday. Peabody-Burns plays Friday at Goessel.

Lyons 52, Halstead 44

HALSTEAD — The Halstead Dragon girls fell to Lyons 52-44 Tuesday in Central Kansas League play in Halstead.

The Dragons trailed 24-16 at the half.

Brenna McClure scored 11 points for Lyons, 8-8.

Halstead was led by Morgan Matlock with 11 points.

Halstead is 4-12 and plays Friday at Sterling.

Berean Academy 46, Chase County 40

COTTONWOOD FALLS — The Berean Academy girls’ basketball team stepped away from league play to claim a 46-40 win over Chase County Tuesday in Cottonwood Falls.

The Warriors led 22-15 at the half and 29-28 after three quarters.

Kayla Wilgers scored 19 points for the 16-0 Warriors. Carrie Unruh added 11 points.

Berean plays Friday at Hutchinson Trinity.

White City 48, Goessel 46 (OT)

GOESSEL — The Goessel High School girls’ basketball team fell to White City 48-46 Tuesday in overtime in Wheat State League play.

Goessel trailed 18-17 at the half and 32-28 after three quarters.

Goessel, 3-13, was led by Jessica Harvey with 16 points and Johanna Hoffman with 10.

White City was led by Mindy Stilwell with 19 points and Alexis Campuzano with 11 points.

Goessel hosts Peabody-Burns Friday.

Sterling 53, Hillsboro 51

HILLSBORO — The Hillsboro High School girls suffered a 53-51 loss to Sterling Tuesday in Central Kansas League play at Hillsboro.

Hillsboro led 21-16 at the half, but trailed 38-35 after three quarters.

Taylor Ahnert scored 14 points for Sterling. Dani Dowell added 10 points.

WHITEWATER — Caleb Cherryholmes scored 29 points to lead the Remington Bronco boys to a 63-52 non-league win over Peabody-Burns Tuesday in rural Whitewater.

Remington led 29-11 at the half and 47-26 after three quarters, holding off a Warrior comeback in the fourth quarter.

Caleb Tanner scored 16 points for Remington, 12-4. Paul Janzen scored 10 points.

Matt Hiebert scored 17 points for Peabody-Burns, 7-9. Austin Savage scored 14 points.

Peabody-Burns plays Friday at Goessel. Remington hosts Ell-Saline Friday.

Hesston 42, Haven 38

HESSTON — The Hesston Swathers downed the Haven Wildcats 42-38 Tuesday in Central Kansas League play in Hesston.

The Swathers led 20-16 at the half.

Tyler McCartney led Hesston with 14 points.

Jed Beachy led 6-10 Haven with 14 points. Luke Johnson added 10 points.

Hesston is 10-6 and plays Friday at Nickerson.

Halstead 48, Lyons 43

HALSTEAD — The Halstead Dragon boys used a 17-5 fourth quarter to rally for a 48-43 win over Lyons Tuesday in Central Kansas League play in Halstead.

The Dragons trailed 24-11 at the half and 38-31 after three quarters.

Halstead, 6-10, was led by Blake Bohling with 14 points and Andrew Pjesky with 10.

Lyons, 1-15, was led by Ryan McClure and Grady Kirkhart with 14 points each.

Halstead plays Friday at Sterling.

Moundridge 55, Canton-Galva 15

MOUNDRIDGE — The Moundridge Wildcat boys’ basketball team downed Canton-Galva 55-15 Tuesday in Heart of America League play Tuesday in Moundridge.

Trey Unrau scored 27 points for Moundridge, 14-2. Daniel Ratzlaff added 13 points.

Kolby Moddelmog scored six points for Canton-Galva, 2-14.

Moundridge hosts Inman Tuesday.

Berean Academy 43, Chase County 39

COTTONWOOD FALLS — The Berean Academy boys’ basketball team edged Chase County 43-39 Tuesday in non-league play in Cottonwood Falls.

Berean led 24-20 at the hal.

Cameron Rust led a balanced Warrior attack with 10 points. Daniel Claassen added nine points.

Berean Academy is 15-1 and plays Friday at Hutchinson Trinity.

Centre 84, Elyria Christian 77 (OT)

LOST SPRINGS — The Centre Cougar boys outlasted Elyria Christian 84-77 Tuesday in overtime in Wheat State League play in rural Lost Springs.

Centre trailed 36-29 at the half. The game was tied 47-47 after three quarters.

Justin Deines led Centre with 21 points. James Wyatt scored 18 points. Ty Simons scored 13 points.

Elyria Christian, 2-15, was led by Aaron Potter with 32 points. Ethan Price scored 12. Josh Nichols scored 11. Daniel Froese scored 10 points.

Centre is 7-11 and plays Friday at Wakefield.

Goessel 31, White City 29

GOESSEL — The Goessel Bluebird boys edged White City 31-29 Tuesday in Wheat State League play.

Hoessel trailed 14-12 at the half.

Braden Unruh scored 19 points for Goessel, 9-7.

Trent Blythe led 12-5 White City with eight points.

Goessel hosts Peabody-Burns Friday.

Hillsboro 79, Sterling 63

HILLSBORO — The Hillsboro Trojan boys put four players in double figures in a 79-63 win over Sterling Tuesday in Central Kansas League play in Hillsboro.

The game was tied 31-31 at the half. Hillsboro outscored Sterling 29-19 in the third quarter.

Shaq Thiessen and Brett Weinbrenner each scored 16 points for Hillsboro, 13-3. Christian Ratzlaff added 15 points. Josh Wiebe scored 14.

Sterling, 13-3, was led by Chad Bennett with 18, Seth Humphreys with 17 and Bryant Patterson with 13.

Hillsboro hosts Smoky Valley Friday.
