Riley Cooper caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Mike Kafka with 23 seconds remaining in regulation to give the Philadelphia Eagles a 20-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs Friday night in an NFL pre-season game at Arrowhead Stadium.
LeSean McCoy opened the scoring for the Eagles with an 18-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. David Akers followed with a 39-yard field goal in the first quarter.
The Chiefs answered back with a four-yard pass from Matt Cassel to Dwayne Bowe in the second quarter. Thomas Jones scored on an 11-yard run in the third quarter. Ryan Succup put the Chiefs ahead 17-13 with a 43-yard field goal with 2:04 left in the fourth quarter.
Cassel finished 14 of 23 passing with 85 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Bowe had four catches for 32 yards. Lance Long had one catch for 39 yards. Jackie Battle led the Chiefs offense with 10 carries for 49 yards. Dexter McCluster added eight carries for 47 yards.
Kevin Kolb hit 11 of 25 passes with an interception for 103 yards. Kafka added nine of 13 passes for 93 yards. Michael Vick hit his only pass thrown for eight yards and added 13 yards rushing. Cooper and Jeremy Mackin each had 39 receiving yards.
The Chiefs are 0-3 in pre-season and host Green Bay Thursday.
