Peabody-Burns 46, Solomon 31
PEABODY — It’s not how you start, but how you finish —and the Peabody-Burns girls’ basketball team proved it in a 46-31 win over Solomon Friday night.
Peabody struggled early, falling behind 11-6 before rallying to tie the game at the half. In the second half the Warriors outscored their guests by 15 points to get the win.
Paige Lewis led all scores with 13 points for the Warriors, the only player to reach double figures.
Hesston 63, Sterling 56
HESSTON — Hesston picked up a win at home Friday, downing Sterling 63-36 in a game that was never really in doubt.
Hesston raced out to an early lead behind a red-hot Sam Short — she scored eight points in the first quarter to nearly match Sterling in the first eight minutes.
Short ended the night with a game high 27 points and was the only player in double figures.
Remington 51, Sedgwick 30
WHITEWATER — Remington raced out to an early lead and never looked back in a win over rival Sedgwick Friday night, beating the Cardinals 51-31 in girls’ basketball action.
Remington took control of the game in the second period, outscoring their hosts 20-8 in the second quarter to take control of the game.
Chelsea Coats scored a game-high 14 points for the Broncos.
Jamie Lovett led Sedgwick with 13 points.
Centre 45, Goessel 24
LOST SPRINGS — A slow start proved to be more than Goessel could overcome in girls’ basketball action Friday, as the Bluebirds fell to Centre 45-24 on the road.
Goessel put up only three points in the first quarter — all of those tallies coming on a Johanna Hoffman three point goal. Hoffman led the Bluebirds with 11. points in the loss.
Moundridge 47, Hutch Trinity 24
MOUNDRIDGE — The Moundridge girls’ basketball team took control early in a 47-24 win over Hutch Trinity Friday night in Moundridge.
The Wildcats raced out to a 24-13 at the half behind 14 first-half points from Mackenzie Suderman.
Suderman ended the night with a game-high 18 points and was the only player to hit double figures.

PEABODY — The Peabody-Burns Warriors used a big night from Matt Hiebert and Austin Savage and strong third quarter to get a 61-56 win over Solomon in Peabody Friday night.
Savage scored a game-high 24 points while Hiebert posted 20 points for the home team.
The game was tied at the half, but the Warriors opened the second half with an 18-6 run to take command. Despite a flurry of Solomon three-pointers in the fourth quarter, the Warriors grabbed the win.

Caleb Tanner proved to be more than the Cardinals could handle, scoring a game-high 25 points for the Broncos in he victory. Caleb Cherryholmes broke double figures with 16 for Remington. Logan Thomson led the Cardinals with 18 points. Elliot Money broke double figures with 11 points. Moundridge 64, Hutch Trinity 40MOUNDRIDGE — The Moundridge Wildcats picked up a win over Hutch Trinity Friday night, 64-40. Trinity actually held a slim one-point lead at the end of the first period before Moundridge hit a barrage of three-point goals, five to be exact, in the second quarter to put 26 points on the board in an eight-minute stretch. The outburst gave Moundridge a lead it would never relinquish. Trey Unrau scored a game-high 29 points for Moundridge. Daniel Ratzlaff added 11 points while Tyler Kaufman broke double figures with 10.
