Winter competes
in meet for MSU
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Newton High School grad Brittney Winter competed in several events for Missouri State in a dual meet with cross-town rival Drury Saturday.
MSU won the dual meet over the NCAA Division II school 144.5-97.5.
Winter was a member of the fourth-place 400-yard medley relay team, which finished in 4:14.97. She swam a 56.62 in the 100-yard freestyle as an exhibition entry. She was a member of the third-place 400-yard freestyle relay team, which finished in 3:48.93.
Missouri State hosts Lindenwood Friday.
Hannah named
to preview team
Chase Hannah of Leawood was named to the All-Collegiate Preview Golf Team based on his finish in the Collegiate Preview Series tournaments in the fall.
He was the overall points leader.
A freshman at Shawnee Mission East, he is the grandson of David and Olive Hannah of Newton.
