WHITEWATER — The Remington Bronco girls downed seventh-ranked (KBCA, Class 2A) Ell-Saline 43-36 Friday in HOAL play.
Remington led 25-21 at the half and 32-30 after three quarters, closing out the game with an 11-6 run. Remington won despite five of 17 free throw shooting, one of 10 in the fourth quarter,
Katie Regier led Remington with 13 points. Jessi Green added nine.
Mariah Jones led Ell-Saline with 14 points. Ell-Saline falls to 2-4 in HOAL play, 9-6 overall.
Remington is 12-3, 4-2 in HOAL play. Remington plays Tuesday at Berean Academy.

Hesston led 31-24 at the half and 42-41 after three quarters.
Devin Callon scored 23 points for Haven, 10-6 overall and 4-2 in MCAA play. Ridge Foster added 20.
Hesston was led by Taylor Redding with 15. Lucas Petrocci scored 13 and Cole Jost scored 10.
Hesston is 11-4, 4-2 in MCAA play. Hesston plays Tuesday at Nickerson.

PEABODY — The Peabody-Burns boys put down the defense on Little River, claiming a 60-28 Heart of America League win Friday in Peabody.
The Warriors led 25-14 at the half, making a 22-12 third-quarter run and holding Little River to two points in the fourth quarter.
Aaron Topham led Peabody-Burns with 19 points. Jacob Simmonds scored 13 and Martin Hofkamp scored 12.
Chet Cordell scored 10 points for Little River, 4-10 overall and 2-4 in HOAL play.
Peabody-Burns is 13-2, 5-1 in HOAL play, and plays Tuesday at Canton-Galva.

ELBING — The Berean Academy boys’ basketball team held off Moundridge 39-38 Friday in HOAL play in Elbing.
Moundridge led 20-14 at the half, but gave up a 14-3 third quarter run. The Warriors had to withstand a Moundridge comeback in the fourth quarter.
Lonnie Penner led Berean Academy with 11 points. Caleb Hoover added 10.
Trey Unrau scored 19 points for Moundridge.
