Hesston College
men fall to JCCC

HESSTON — The Hesston College men’s basketball team fell to Johnson County Community College 70-57 Tuesday in NJCAA Division II, Region VI play at Yost Center in Hesston.
Scoring details were not provided at press time.
Johnson County, ranked sixth in the NJCAA Division II poll, improves to 4-0, 1-0 in Region VI play. Hesston falls to 2-4, 0-2 in Region VI play.
Hesston plays the Rhema Bible Training Center at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Broken Arrow, Okla.

Match-up set for
Salt City Bowl

HUTCHINSON — Hutchinson Community College and the New Mexico Military Institute will meet in the first Central Bank-Salt City Bowl at 1 p.m. Dec. 5 at Gowans Stadium in Hutchinson.
Hutchinson is 6-4 and ranked 20th by the National Junior College Athletic Association. This is the Blue Dragons’ first bowl bid since the 2004 Heart of Texas Bowl, won by HCC over Tyler Junior College 15-10.
New Mexico Military is ranked 16th and is 7-3 this season. The Broncos are making their first bowl trip in 10 years.
Tickets go on sale Nov. 30 and are available at all Central Bank drive-through locations in Hutchinson, the SportShack and the HCC Athletic Office at the Sports Arena.

Offense — Clarence Anderson, Ottawa, 5-9, 150, so., WR, Wichita (8 catches, 190 yards, 3 TDs).
Defense — Ross Diehl, Ottawa, 6-2, 209, sr., LB, Sedalia, Colo. (8 total tackles, 6 solo, .5 tackles for a loss).
Special teams — Scott McKeon, Kansas Wesleyan, 5-10, 180, sr., K, Rohnert Park, Calif. (7 punts, 34.1 average; 6 kickoffs, 55.0 average, 1 touchback; 3 of 3 PAT kicks).

Wichita drops game
on road to Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. — The Wichita Thunder dropped a 4-3 decision to the Tulsa Oilers Tuesday at the BOK Center in Central Hockey League play.
Joel Hanson, newcomer Jason Deleurme and Brandon Kaleniecki each scored for Wichita. T.J. Craig had three points for Tulsa. Jake Riddle added a goal for the Oilers.
Scott Campbell had 22 saves for Wichita. Kevin Armstrong had 31 saves for the win.
The Thunder fell to the Missouri Mavericks 4-2 Saturday in Independence, Mo., dropping a pair of weekend games at the new Indepedence Events Center.
Troy Ofukany and Mike Kneeland each scored a goal for Wichita. Campbell had 33 saves in goal. Campbell, a rookie, has a 3.12 goals-against-average and a .900 save percentage.
Wichita signed center Brett Pilkington last week. Pilkington has 158 points in 191 professional games. He spent last season with Bakersfield of the ECHL, where he scored 29 points in 35 games. A native of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Pilkington played four years at Bowling Green State.
Wichita falls to 2-10, dropping seven straight.
Wichita hosts Arizona at 7:05 p.m. Friday at the Kansas Coliseum.
