PARK CITY —

The Wichita Wild indoor football team announced its first signings of the 2009 season.

The team re-signed receiver Donald Payne and signed kicker Dylan Pohlman. Both players are from Wichita.

Pohlman will be a six-year pro from Tabor, who spent last season with Corpus Christi of arenafootball2, where he was six of 10 on field goal attempts and 32 of 42 in PAT kicks.

He spent the 2006 and 2007 seasons with the Manchester Wolves of af2, where he was five of 17 in field goals and 74 of 91 in PATs. He played with Oklahoma City of af2 in 2005.

Pohlman began his pro career with the Wichita Stealth in 2004. Pohlman graduated from Tabor in 2003. He holds the school records for kick scoring in a career at 118 and in a season at 58.

Payne was an all-league selection last season with 36 receptions for 420 yards and three touchdowns. Payne played football and basketball at Appalachian State in Boone, N.C. He is a fourth-year professional who started his pro career with the Wichita Aviators.

The Wild expects to sign 35 to 40 players for training camp, which begins the week of March 9.
