Hiebert named

All-American

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Goessel High School graduate Page Hiebert, a sophomore volleyball player at Hutchinson Community College, was named a second-team National Junior College Athletic Association Division I All-American for the 2017 season.

Hiebert, a 6-foot outside hitter, led HCC to a 27-14 record, a Region VI Tournament title and an NJCAA Division I national tournament berth.

She finished her senior season with 578 kills, third all time at HCC and finished the year in third place in NJCAA Division I play at 4.10 kills-per-set. Her 1,604 attacks was a single-season school record. She finished with 379 digs, 60 total blocks and 41 aces.

For her junior college career, she had 877 kills, third all time at HCC. She is third all-time with 3.37 kills per set and third in total attacks at 2,409. She is a two-time All-Jayhawk Conference West selection.

She is the 14th HCC player to earn All-American honors.

WICHITA — Wichita Thunder defenseman Jamie Doornbosch has been loaned to American Hockey League affiliate Bakersfield.

This is Dornbosch’s third call-up to Bakersfield this season, where he has played one game.

In 13 games with Wichita this season, he has six assists.
