MOUNDRIDGE — The Moundridge High School boys’ basketball team gave up a buzzer beater in a 52-51 loss to Hillsboro Tuesday in the Moundridge Classic.

The game was tied 26-26 at the half. Moundridge led 38-37 after three quarters.

“Great game,” Moundridge coach Vance Unrau said. “The kids played their tails off. I’m only disappointed in the final score. (Elias) Werth hit a 25-foot three with four seconds left after Noah Eichelberger gave us the lead with 24 seconds left on an old fashioned three-point play. These kids play hard, they are coachable and they accept their roles.”
