WICHITA — On their home court for an NCAA tournament match for the first time in team history, the Wichita State volleyball team made the most of the opportunity, stopping Radford in three sets Friday night at Koch Arena.

Wichita State won the match 25-16, 25-18, 25-15.

Newton High grad Abbie Lehman led Wichita State with 14 kills, followed by Mikaela Raudsepp with 13 and Alex Koon with 10. Newton grad Emily Hiebert set 42 assists. Giorgia Civita had 15 digs, followed by Hiebert with nine. Lehman downed two blocks. Hiebert and Koon each downed one block.

For Radford, Maddie Palmer had 15 kills. Halsey Kleespies set 25 assists and served three aces. Kaylor Nash had 13 digs. Amaya Rousseau downed four blocks, followed by Kleespies with three.

Radford ends the season 25-5. Wichita State is 29-3 and hosts Missouri at 7 p.m. today at Koch Arena in the second round.

Missouri, 21-11, advanced with a five-set win over 19th-ranked Kansas 25-23, 15-25, 25-15, 20-25, 15-10.
