HESSTON — Blaine Rucker shot a hole-in-one Wednesday at the Hesston Golf Course.

Rucker used a six-iron to ace the 142-yard 17th hole. Witnesses were Dale Lambert and Bob Buller.

Bethel men

fall to Tabor

The Bethel College men’s soccer team fell to rival Tabor 2-1 in overtime Wednesday in KCAC play at Bethel.

Oscar Moyano scored a goal with an assist for the Bluejays, including the game winner in the 110th minute. Rex Glann scored from Moyano in the 79th minute to tie the game.

Bethel scored in the 30th minute on a goal by Joshua Clay with an assist by Aron Lundh.

Bethel outshot Tabor 21-9. Derrick Eszlinger had seven saves for Tabor. Albert Bratthammar had two saves for Bethel.

Tabor improves to 6-6, 3-4 in KCAC play. Bethel falls to 7-7, 3-4 in KCAC play. Bethel hosts York at 7:30 p.m. Saturday for senior night.

The Bethel College women’s soccer team fell to Tabor 2-0 Wednesday in KCAC play at Bethel.

Dakota Spencer scored both goals for Tabor. The first came in the sixth minute. The second came in the 84th minute. Both goals were unassisted.

Bethel was outshot 9-5. Ruby-Anne Fines had three saves to claim the clean sheet for Tabor. Maddie McDaniel had four saves for Bethel.

Tabor is 5-7-1, 2-4 in KCAC play. Bethel drops to 4-9, 1-6 in KCAC play. Bethel hosts York at 5 p.m. Saturday for senior night.

McPHERSON — The Bethel College volleyball team fell to McPherson College in three sets Wednesday in KCAC play in McPherson.

Bethel lost 25-15, 25-16, 25-19.

Devrie Sombers and Leia Seiler each had nine kills for McPherson. Kaitlyn Heinis set 16 assists, followed by Morgan Abbott with 10. Rianne Richard had 17 digs, followed by jamie Siess with 14.

For Bethel, Abby Kurtzer had 10 kills. Kelsie Anderson set 25 assists. Rachel Bustillos had 23 digs.

Bethel falls to 4-18, 2-15 in KCAC play, and hosts Southwestern at 7 p.m. Friday.

FORT SCOTT — The Hesston College volleyball team fell to Fort Scott Community College in three sets Wednesday in Fort Scott.

Hesston fell 25-21, 25-10, 25-13.

Grace Graniewski and Megan Turner each had 10 kills for Fort Scott. Hanna White set 22 assists. Deardin Kelley served three aces. Katie Gorman had 31 digs. Graniewski downed four blocks.

For Hesston, Kylee Kasselman had nine kills. Faith Hallmark set 22 assists. Hallmark also had 16 digs. Cassidy King downed four blocks.

Hesston is 10-14 and hosts Barton Community Collge and Southeast (Neb.) Community College at 10 a.m. Saturday.
