Valley Center (5-1) at Goddard (6-0)
If Goddard wins, Goddard clinches the Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Division II title, while a Valley Center win keeps the league race an open question until next week.
Goddard topped Arkansas City 44-21 last week, while Valley Center was upended by previously winless Goddard Eisenhower 42-14.
Goddard is the sole unbeaten team remaining in the Class 5A, West District Standings, while Valley Center dropped from second to fourth, in a tie with Maize. The top eight teams will host a first-round playoff game in two weeks.
Goddard’s Blake Sullivan has hit 46 of 97 passes for 794 yards with 10 touchdowns and two interceptions. Sullivan also has 96 carries for 701 yards and 10 touchdowns. Goddard Eisenhower (1-5) at Andover (3-3)
Andover downed Newton 42-14 last week, while Eisenhower rolled past previously unbeaten Valley Center 42-14. Andover needs a win in its final two games, coupled with two Goddard losses to have a chance at the league title. Andover’s win moved the Trojans up two spots in the West District standings to give the team a shot at a first-round home playoff spot. Eisenhower moves up to 12th.
Andover’s Eli Fahnstock has hit 87 of 178 passes for 911 yards with six touchdowns and nine interceptions. Fahnstock also has 98 carries for 330 yards and six touchdowns, followed by Peyton Henry with 66 carries for 316 yards and three touchdowns. Ben Smith has 31 catches for 294 yards and a touchdown.
