Eisenhower (0-3) at Goddard (3-0)

Goddard came back after a big win over Derby two weeks ago to edge Andover 21-17 last week to open league play.

Eisenhower struggled with eight turnovers in a 31-29 loss to Newton.

Goddard is third in the Class 5A West District, 17 points behind Kapaun-Mt. Carmel and one point behind Bishop Carroll.

Eisenhower is 14th among the teams in the district and leads all of the 0-3 teams thanks to a pair of close losses in the last two weeks.

Blake Sullivan leads Goddard with 546 yards passing and six touchdowns and 392 yards rushing and seven touchdowns. Darius Russell has 226 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Owen Beason has 270 yards receiving and a touchdown. Zack True has 240 yards receiving and four touchdowns.

For Eisenhower, Ty Trudo has 381 yards rushing and three touchdowns and has 126 yards passing. Parker Wenzel has 173 yards rushing and a touchdown.


Arkansas City (1-2) at Winfield (1-2)

The battle for Cowley County has both Winfield and Arkansas City at 1-2.

Arkansas City fell to Valley Center 35-7 last week, while AV-CTL Division III Winfield fell to McPherson 38-14. Ark City is 13th in the Class 5A West District and seventh among the seven teams at 1-2. Winfield plays in Class 4A, Division I.

Tryee Watkins leads Arkansas City with 301 yards rushing and four touchdowns. Cevin Clark has 264 yards passing with two touchdowns and 111 yards rushing with a touchdown. Montez Robinson has 138 yards receiving. Hunter O’Toole has 128 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Winfield has used two quarterbacks this season — Hayden Gibson with 134 yards and a touchdown, and K.C. Crandall with 100 yards passing. Kyle Sawyer has 125 yards rushing with three touchdowns. Landon Davis has 101 yards receiving.

Andover Central (1-2) at Andover (1-2)

The clash for Andover features a pair of 1-2 teams. Andover fell to Goddard 21-17 last week, while Andover Central beat Abilene 48-14 in a non-league game.

Andover is 10th among Class 5A West District teams and fourth among the seven teams at 1-2. Andover Central is a Class 4A, Division I team.

Andover’s Eli Fahnestock has 476 yards passing and four touchdowns. Chase Gumeringer has 112 yards rushing. Ben Smith has 126 yards receiving, followed by Luke Windish with 120 yards and three touchdowns.

Central’s Reagan Jones has 422 yards passing and four touchdowns. Mitchell Allison has 109 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Matthew Macy has 90 yards receiving with two touchdowns.
