About Ottawa: The Braves last Saturday fell in the KCAC-GPAC Football Challenge to Northwestern College 41-16. Ottawa's offense was powered by sophomore quarterback Connor Byers, who went 19-34 for 184 yards, had one touchdown and one interception. James Reeder a freshman defensive back had 21 rushes for 123 yards. Maurico Uribe, a senior wide receiver caught eight passes for 87 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, the Braves were led by junior defensive back, Marcus Fenderson who led the team with 11 tackles and one tackle for loss.

About Concordia: Concordia lost in the KCAC-GPAC Football Challenge to Kansas Wesleyan 28-13 on Saturday. The Bulldogs offense was led by sophomore running back Ryan Durdon, who had 24 attempts for 208 yards and one touchdown. Junior quarterback Riley Wiltfong went 7 for 17 for 83 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Defensively, the Bulldogs were led by senior defensive line Erik Small, who had five tackles and recorded his first career sack.

History: The Braves faced Concordia in their second game last season and lost to the Bulldogs, 34-23.

About Sterling: The Warriors fell to Doane in the KCAC-GPAC Football Challenge, 34-28. Sterling was led by 2016 KCAC Player of the Year, junior quarterback Cedrick Phillips, who completed 13-26 for 180 yards and had two interceptions. Aaron Chisolm, a sophomore running back rushed the ball 20 times for 103 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, the Warriors were led in tackles by senior line backer Dezmond Howard, who finished with eight tackles, including three for a loss. Swain Williams also a senior line backer finished with seven, including one for a loss.

About Mayville State: Mayville State lost their opener to their season, 27-31, to Buena Vista University. The Comets were led by sophomore quarterback Creighton Pfau, who went 31-51 for 394 yards and had four touchdowns. He also added 31 rushing yards on 14 attempts. Trent Mormon a junior wide receiver, lead the team with 10 passes for 147 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, sophomore defensive line Austin Robb led the Comets with six total tackles.

History: This will be the first meeting between Sterling College and Mayville State in football.

Friends (0-1) at (11) Doane (1-0)

About Friends: Friends lost to Midland University in the KCAC-GPAC Football Challenge, 29-24. Senior quarterback Brennan Whitaker led the Falcons attack going 28-45 for 308 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran the ball 10 times for 37 yards and had one touchdown. Jacob Cron a senior wide receiver caught five passes for 63 yards and had two touchdowns. Defensively, senior linebacker Francis Tusa had 10 total tackles, three solo, and seven assisted.

About Doane: (11) Doane beat (14) Sterling in last weeks KCAC Radio Network Game of the Week, 34-28. The Tigers were led by junior running back Kyle Jensen, who ran the ball 13 times for 142 yards and scored three touchdowns. Senior quarterback Trev Lovell, went 6 for 9 for 87 yards, while sophomore quarterback Paul Lozano went 3 for 11 for 87 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Defensively, Doane were led by junior defensive back Seth Majerus, who had eight total tackles, seven solo, one tackle for loss, and one sack on the night.

History: Friends played Doane last season and lost 45-21.

Southwestern (0-1) at Drake (0-1)

About Southwestern: Southwestern lost in their season opener to Hastings College, 52-35. Junior quarterback Christian Gordon accounted for all five of the Moundbuliders touchdowns, while racking up 254 yards on total offense, 186 passing, and 68 rushing. Freshman running back Keyshawn Wyatt in is collegiate debut, recorded a game-high 128 yards rushing with 14 carries. Defensively, senior linebacker David Ashilonu had a team high 12 tackles last week and one tackle for loss for two yards.

About Drake: A non-scholarship NCAA Division I-FCS program, Drake lost their opener against South Dakota, 77 to 7. The Bulldogs are led by senior quarterback Grant Kraemer who went 10 for 24 for 135 yards and three interceptions. Taylor Murph, a sophomore running back ran the ball nine times for 16 yards and averaging 1.8 yards per carry. Defensively, junior linebacker Zac Rujawitz led Drake with eight total tackles, five solo, and three assisted, and had one tackle for loss for of three yards.

History: This will be the first meeting between Southwestern and Drake in football.
