NORMAN, Okla. — The Bethel College golf team received a “President’s Special Recognition” academic award from the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Bethel was one of 39 schools to receive the award, including five National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics programs.

To receive the award, a team must have a grade-point-average of 3.5 or better.

Bethel had a team GPA of 3.6, the highest for any team at Bethel.

The team was earlier cited as an NAIA All-Scholar Team, for having a team GPA higher than 3.0. There were 11 teams from Bethel given that award.
