MOUNDRIDGE — The Moundridge Wildcat softball team reached the Class 2-1A regional finals with a 12-6 win over Hillsboro Tuesday in Moundridge.
The 13-7 Wildcats face the winner of the Inman and Canton-Galva at 5 p.m. today.
The Wildcats scored three runs each in the first, third, fourth and sixth innings. Hillsboro scored a pair of runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings. Hits were even at 13. Hillsboro had five errors.
Zizi Sebrandt drove in three runs for Moundridge. Keira Sebrandt drove in two runs. Ellen Durst had three hits.
Trinity Marlar had three hits for Hillsboro. Mesa Merrell had two hits. Taylor Helmer drove in a pair of runs.
Jadah Moore pitched a complete game for the win, striking out one. Helmer took the loss for Hillsboro, striking out seven.
Hillsboro ends the season 3-18.

in regional semis
CHENEY — The Sedgwick Cardinals fell to Douglass 3-1 Tuesday in the Class 3A regional semifinals in Cheney.
Two hits and two errors in the bottom of the third inning led to three Douglass runs. Lexi Sanborn and Shayna Bergley each drove in a run.
Macie McGinn drove in a run for Sedgwick in the top of the fourth.
Jennifer Dunagan went the distance pitching for Douglass, allowing four hits and striking out 11. Avery Blank took the loss for Sedgwick, allowing four hits and striking out 10.
Sedgwick ends the season 13-7.
