PREP BOYS

Heart of America League

Inman 51, Moundridge 45

MOUNDRIDGE — The Moundridge Wildcat boys fell to Inman 51-45 Friday in Heart of America League play in Moundridge.

Moundridge trailed 24-15 at the half, but got within one after three quarters, 34-33. The Wildcats were outscored 17-12 in the fourth quarter.

“Second game in a row that the final score was affected by free throws,” Moundridge coach Vance Unrau said. “Purely a reflection of us settling for early possession jump shots and not attacking the basket. We did a much better job in the second half of dribble penetration and that's when we got back in the game. Untimely second chance points in the final minutes of the game made it tough down the stretch. Hard fought game. Have to give a lot of credit to Inman for hitting the offensive glass hard and getting to the rim when they needed a basket. We will keep battling.”

Lucas Barlow led Inman with 18 points, followed by Payton Froese with 16.

Anthony Otte led Moundridge with 12 points.

Moundridge plays Tuesday at Remington.
