Remington teacher attends Mississippi State program

— Susan High, math teacher at Remington Middle School of Whitewater, was one of 40 educators who attended the Mississippi State University Industry-Education Partnerships program interning in industries learning workplace skills needed in today’s technology oriented and changing work environment.

During the program High had the opportunity to visit Stennis Space Center. The goal of the program and its industry partners is to give educators the opportunity to enhance learning by providing workplace experiences and applications of industry skills to be utilized in the classroom.

The program, a function of the university’s Center for Science, Mathematics and Technology, is funded through 2009 by the National Science Foundation and annually provides an opportunity for educators to work with industry representatives.
