Halstead cemetery walk Sunday

The Halstead Historical Society will sponsor a Cemetery Walk on Sunday, led by local historian Joe Trego. This walk will cover the northwest section of Halstead Cemetery located at the corner of U.S. Highway 50 and Hertzler Highway 89. Participants should meet in that area.

Joe Trego is a life-time Halstead resident who learned many stories about early Halstead from his father and other old timers as they retold stories of events and people who shaped the development of the Halstead community.

Three previous walks have covered other areas of the Halstead cemetery and have been well attended by those who enjoy interactive history. The public is invited to attend.

The Halstead Heritage Museum and Depot is located at 116 East First in the former Santa Fe Depot. It is open from 2 to 5 p.m. weekends or by appointment by calling 316 830-3308.
