    • KDOT Video: Gov. Weight Loss Challenge
  • Gov. Sam Brownback kicks off his "Weight Loss Challenge" Kansas Governor Sam Brownback has announced a statewide Weight Loss Challenge to take place Jan. 15 - May 15, 2013. The Governor wants to encourage Kansans to be physically active and eat healthfully. He has challenged teams of five to compete against his team of five in losing the greatest percentage of total starting weight. Registration opened on Monday, Dec. 17 and will continue until Monday, Jan. 14. State employees, including the Legislative and Judicial branches, are eligible to participate in the Governor?s Weight Loss Challenge and vie for the reward monies. The two State employee teams that lose the highest percentage of total starting weight between Jan. 15 and May 15 will win cash awards. State teams (not including 1st and 2nd place) that beat the Governor?s team will be entered in a drawing that will result in up to 10 additional teams winning prize money.
