First United Methodist Church, 801 N. Main St. in Newton, will have its 2009 bazaar from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 7 at the church.

Among the items for sale will be more than 200 pounds of peppernuts, arts and crafts, fall and Christmas decor, homemade baked goods, costume jewelry from many eras for sale in the Bling Bling Boutique, Ladybug Designs by Evelyn and sunflower items.

A hand-quilted, appliqued queen/king-size quilt “Rose Wreath,” matching shams and decorative pillow will be given away during a donation drawing at 2 p.m. Nov. 7. Suggested donation for tickets is $1 per ticket or six for $5. The winner need not be present to win.

Also during the bazaar will be a special free 30-minute puppet show at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary.

Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. by the Methodist Men.

Proceeds from the bazaar fund programs locally and afar. In 2009, they have helped fund Bible school, helped send youth to summer camps, and have helped Health Ministries, United Methodist Youthville, Asbury Park, domestic violence, Salvation Army Back to School, Grace Med, Mexican American Ministries and more.

“FUMC Bazaar is an excellent opportunity to do some Christmas shopping as wel will have gifts for all ages,” a news release stated.
