NEWTON —

The Presbyterian Women Thank Offering Dedication Service will be Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, 900 Columbus St.

This year, $684,900 in grants were given to 27 projects in the United States and around the world. These funds are used for projects that help meet basic human needs.

This year, one of the projects was the Union Rescue Mission in Wichita. Executive Director Marsha Stonyer will present information about their work and the project “Recession Rescue” during the 9:15 a.m. Sunday school time at First Presbyterian.

Following a fellowship time at 10:30 a.m., she will give the message at the Worship Service.

The 2009 Thank Offering also will be received and dedicated. The women of the church will conduct the service and provide ushers and greeters.

A special recognition award will be presented at the beginning of the service and, following the worship service, there will be a covered-dish luncheon.

All interested people are invited to attend.
