Janell Shae will perform during a show that starts at 8 p.m. Friday at Pages A Bookshop in Newton.
The opening act is Jacob Wiard.
The show is free.
Shae always has had a passion for music. She has been writing songs ever since she was a little girl and has always dreamed of performing and sharing her music.
In 2009, she received her bachelor’s music degree from Central Christian College of Kansas, with an emphasis in contemporary Christian music and general music.
Shae has been working hard toward the release of her debut self-titled album, “Janelle Shae,” in November and is happy to release an album that speaks to people of all ages and to circumstances and feelings we all experience, according to a news release.
Shae's influences are Paramore, Plumb, Over the Rhine, Sara Bareilles, Lifehouse, John Mayer, David Crowder, Brandon Heath, Fly Leaf, Rebecca St. James, Red, and The Fray.
