Those who cannot afford the admission can put in some work at Stone Prairie.

Newton Zombie Walk • 5 p.m. • assemble at the Newton Activity Center parking lot • Newton. Each participant (zombie) should bring at least two canned goods of non-perishable food. The walk leaves at 6 p.m., heads down Fifth Street to Oak Street, ending up at the Historic Fox Theatre in downtown Newton for free pizza and viewing of “Shaun of the Dead” movie. They stumble upon the town of Brigadoon, which appears only for one day every 100 years. Tickets are available beginning Monday at Goessel High School.

This Victorian house offers the visitor a glimpse into the way the Warkentins lived, since 80 percent of the original furnishings remain.
