Spread the word! Specifically, I mean spreading the word about spay and neuter. Feel free to mention that Caring Hands Humane Society will help with the expense for Harvey County residents!
Our S.N.Y.P. (which stands for Spay and Neuter Your P.ets) Vouchers will cover up to $100 of the cost.
In addition to greatly reducing annoying behaviors, spaying or neutering your pet makes them much less likely to roam in search of a mate. This means less chance your pets will find themselves at Caring Hands. It also means fewer kittens.
Each year, we experience the highest loss of life during what we call kitten season — usually early spring and late summer into fall. We will be flooded with litter after litter of kittens.
Despite this high intake, we saved almost 70 percent of adoptable cats last year. I believe, with your help, we can make it even further this year!
All you need to do is spread the word! Tell your friends, family, neighbors and anyone you know who has a pet about our vouchers.
All they have to do is bring in a valid driver’s license with a Harvey County address, and we’ll issue vouchers for all the pets they have!
I have found the people of Newton are known for treating animals well. Spaying and neutering your pets is part of responsible pet ownership. So let’s take it to the next level and make Newton known as a “Spay and Neuter” community!
Lack of space and the other dangers of overcrowding are the No. 1 killer at our humane society. This will save lives!
Plus, it helps prevent annoying behaviors such as aggression, noise and marking territory.
Spaying or neutering even reduces the chances of your pet developing some forms of cancer!
It’s a win-win-win situation!
Will you help spread the word?
