I read a news report about further experiments into copper-coated surfaces — especially on doorhandles and bathroom fixtures — being coated with a copper alloy film that can significantly reduce the spread of infectious diseases, including the H1N1 flu.
Not only does the surface prevent germs from growing, but it has the ability to kill germs over time.
The health benefits from copper have been known for centuries.
It doesn’t take a mystic philosopher to realize copper’s uses may be more diverse than initially thought.
It may not be cheap, but it would be money well-spent if used in schools, banks, churches and other buildings where large numbers of people congregate.
I would hope such simple adjustments would be implemented.
It would be a major advancement that would benefit our overall public health.
— Sincerely,
James A. Marples,
Esbon
